On 17 September 2026, in Urumqi, People’s Republic of China, within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Digital Economy Forum, a Round Table on the development of coordination of digital trade ecosystems among SCO member states was held. A delegation of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tajikistan took part in the event and delivered a presentation.

The Round Table was organised at the initiative of the SCO Business Council and was chaired by SCO Deputy Secretary-General Soheil Khan and Executive Secretary of the SCO Business Council Sergey Kanavsky.

As part of the official programme of the event, the delegation of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tajikistan presented an analytical report highlighting the achievements of the Republic of Tajikistan in the digitalisation of business infrastructure, the implementation of innovative solutions, and the development of cross-border e-commerce platforms.

At the beginning of the presentation, the representative of the Chamber expressed the gratitude of the leadership of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tajikistan to the Executive Secretariat of the SCO Business Council for its continued organisational support for Tajikistan’s economic initiatives, particularly the organisation of the first specialised International Exhibition “SCO Transport and Logistics” and the meeting of the Sectoral Working Group, scheduled to take place on 19–20 October 2026 in Dushanbe.

During the Round Table, the delegation of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tajikistan requested the Central Secretariat to provide assistance in ensuring the proper organisation and conduct of the above-mentioned Exhibition and Working Group meeting.

A working meeting was also held between the Chamber’s delegation and Sergey Kanavsky, Executive Secretary of the SCO Business Council. During the meeting, the Council expressed its readiness to facilitate the mobilisation of foreign logistics and investment companies to participate in the aforementioned events.

At the conclusion of the Round Table, the chairing representatives, on behalf of the SCO Business Council and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tajikistan, once again called upon all participants and business associations from SCO member states, particularly leading companies from the People’s Republic of China, to participate in the events scheduled to take place on 19–20 October 2026 in Dushanbe.
